<Poem>

<Translation>
Ten years after the turmoil and disaster
We’ve grown up, and at last we have met again!
When I asked your surname, I was surprised we’d not met before;
Then you told me your given name, and jour face came back to me.
So many momentous changes have taken place since we parted
That we only finished talking as the evening bell sounded.
Tomorrow you’re away, on the road to Baling,
With range upon range of autumn mountains to cross.
